Good news and bad news...

Me, my sister and her husband went to sprint to get a contract.  I already have a buddy on the contract with me, and unfortunately discovered I could only add one more person, for a total of three.  So my sister and her husband couldnt jump on.  Bad news, but the good news is, they got their own contract anyways, and are happy with the lower monthly bill.  They each got intercepts, but me and my bro-in-law agreed to buy the evo when it came out, I'd pay the difference AND pay his rebate, since he wouldnt be getting it if we swapped, and then we could swap phones.  The guy at the store was fine with that, and said it would be no problem, as long as we weren't concerned with the money issue.  Just hoping I don't destroy my phone.  Also, the 4g network fee IS NOT an option, if you own the Evo its an extra $10 for the 4g service, even though we don't have 4g here.  Kinda sucks but oh well.

Funny thing, they had an Evo at the store.  But they weren't allowed to show it.  I was begging the guy to let me see it, and even talking to different employees to try and look at it lol.  Plus, I guess they held a contest for the employees, and the one who won got a free Evo.  So one of the guys there has an Evo, but he's not allowed to use it(or at least he can't bring it to work i guess) until release date.  I eventually got the guy to let me see his iPad (lol) and I played with that while the contract was set up for my sister.

They went on vacation and won't be back until Sunday, but next week, we're getting the Evo!!!

ok me and bro-in-law are going to get the evo deal.  Is there anything I have to change on my phone to do this??

I have the official 2.1 update, noobnl's custom rom, root, and joeykrim's custom kernal.  I guess sprint has to change over the ESN for each phone.  Do I need to get rid of anything on the phone so they don't suspect anything, or is it fine for something like this?

mach1steve, hoping for some input??

so basically your bro in law is getting an evo activated on his line first?

then you want to swap phones with him?

that'll work fine no matter what roms/kernels/themes/etc. you have on your phone, no need to go back to stock, but a nice person would find him a theme he likes so you sweeten the deal for him.

all you need to do is call sprint and give them both phone numbers and they'll do the swap provided both of you are on the phone.  calling from a landline on speaker phone would work best.

well, I got the evo!  no problems, except it took about 3 hours.  my sister is going to get one too, but she had to put her name on the list.
