I know Radio Shack isn't the best place to turn for update info on 2.1 but I just called two RS stores and neither had no idea about 2.1. One even said, and this isn't a word for word quote but you'll get my point, "The Android update is out. It came out a couple of months ago." Wtf? Of course he wasn't talking about 2.1 and may not even know there is a 2.1 so close to being released. I'm sure not going to RS for any help getting 2.1 installed when it does finally come out, or for any other reason for that matter! Their employees need to at least keep a little more up to date on what is going on with the phones they sell.

you wont be able to go to radio shack to get the update anyway. They aren't going to train their people like sprint will(hopefully) do.  There are a lot of radio shack people that do keep up with things. but most people these days don't take their job seriously anyway.

Good point. Neither place seemed to really care. But as soon as you walk in the door they are more than eager to try to sell you something - anything! - and won't leave you alone till you leave. I'd hate to have a commission job. I'd either stay broke or get fired lol!

Munky, I appreciate the fact that you're keeping up on who's saying what about the 2.1 update, but please stop making new topics about it.  Post in one of the existing ones.

first off, i'm offended that you're blanketing all of the RS employees as useless...  i know more than enough about cellular tech and had you called my store, i would have informed you that we ARE allowed to install any sprint updates as long as they are available on sprint's website.

second, we DON'T get told any of that stuff any sooner than the end user does...

third, why the heck are you calling an RS for that???

Check my post again buddy. I didn't call anyone "useless." I'm glad you know more than enough about cell phones. Too bad the the 2 closest RS stores around here don't. And fyi, I called RS because that is where I bought my phone and contract, both of which I paid good money for. The least they could do is keep their employees a bit more trained on how to deal with cellular issues. Even simple questions. The fact that neither place seemed to even know anything about the 2.1 update is pretty odd for a store that sells Android phones. One of which is one of the most popular on the market (Hero). When I was buying my  phone I asked one of the employees, who I think was actually a manager, if his phone could play flash videos - he owned the HTC Hero. He had no clue if it did or not. Maybe I should call your store next time.  :P

want the number?  i can tell you, if they sell the "Jesusphone", all they're instructed to focus on is the "Jesusphone", i just refuse to which is why my sales are 4:1, android versus apple...

Good to see someone in the cell phone business pushing Android more than Apple.
