I know we just got 2.1 and I am loving it, but just wanted to throw it out there...Do you think we will get 2.2?  Send your thoughts...

I wouldn't hold my breath.  If we do get 2.2, it will probably be through outside developers.

I would love to have 2.2 from what I have read. It is supposed to allow wi-fi tethering as well as Flash. http://www.zdnet.com/blog/apple/android-22-lays-down-the-gauntlet-includes-wifi-tethering/6943?tag=nl.e539

Features include:
•Adobe Flash 10.1
•apps on microSD
•a JIT compiler
•faster V8 javascript engine
•(optional) automatic app updates
•OpenGL ES 2.0
•a new one-handed camera UI
•revamped Google voice search, and
•desktop to handset music streaming

the android devs have said the G1 wouldnt get it, but im sure the xda guys will horseshoe it in.....same as 2.1 now, but that is not supported by the devs or manufacturers....the OP asked if we would "get" 2.2 i took that as officially not hacked together

Didn't Adobe say that Flash 10.1 would only be available on phones with faster (or maybe just bigger) processors anyway? I could be wrong but was thinking I read that somewhere. Processors that are like 1 Ghz or so at the minimum. If that is the cast then they won't even be looking at our phone.  :(

I love how newer and better phones were being released AS i was physically paying for my Intercept lol.

If only it was easy to install new hardware....lol
Go to radio shack and pick up a 1.5 ghz microprocessor for a Intercept and swap it out.

But Wal-mart has it $10-15 cheaper.

Yeah I know we just got v2.1 but v2.2 is sick.
Supports Flash 10.x and just announced it'll support Hulu:

I don't know if anyone has seen this. But dang, i sure hope we can get this update. It has all the built in features that the phone is missing. Update all on market, built in Wi-Fi hotspot. And it's all around faster.

Once the source comes out we're going to do all we can to port it... but don't hold your breath for it to come from samsung any time soon. It might... but they'll probably wait for the one after 2.2.

Flash is a big deal...I'm sure Google will push to get 2.2 onto every phone that can physically support it.  Granted, it's not totally up to them, but still...

Just read this article on Engadget's website about Flash on Android phones....apparently 2.2 is a minimum requirement for Flash, and Hulu is being blocked...at least for now :(

even IF the intercept were to get 2.2, would wifi hotspot be possible? does it have the hardware capability?
