Ah but they have to takes months to add all their helpful tweaks like the Virgin Mobile screaming powerup and shutdown up videos. And the oh so useful apps you can't delete like amazon mp3.

I too found a text message this morning from VM about the upgrade to Froyo.  Here's hoping they did this upgrade right.  Personally, I've had pretty good luck with my Intercept and would hate to see it messed up.

Just got my Froyo updated from Virgin Mobile.

That said it seems the Intercept does NOT support tethering.

I assume Virgin held this back because of it's unlimited data at such a cheap price ?

Using a hotspot widget I was able to get my network to see the phone but with no support for the feature on the phone I can't get to see what the password is on the hotspot and can't access it.

Not sure this will help (I have an Optimus now, got rid of the Intercept) but I installed the app "quick settings" that allowed the hotspot to work.  After installing it, go into it's Customize menu and scroll down to "Hidden Settings" and drag the Hotspot function up above the bar to the visible settings.

Did you also try wired tethering? Easytether Lite worked great with Eclair Android 2.1

http://www.mobile-stream.com/easytether/android.html

Download and install drivers for Windows PC first

http://easytether.blogspot.com/2010/10/easytether-drivers.html

Download and install App on Android phone and follow on screen instructions

You will need your USB cable ready.
