Can someone help me with installing this.  I downloaded the lite version from a few posts up, transferred it from my comp to my phone, and used Astro File Manager to install.  It says it is installed, but when I launch it using Astro, it says, "Activity Not Found-com.swype.android.inputmethod."  There's no icon for it either anywhere for me to select.  Thanks

after you have it installed, go to:

menu > settings > locale & text and click to enable the swype keyboard (if you want, you can disable the other keyboards that you have installed) or else when you go to somewhere to input text, long hold and choose input device and choose swype.  good luck.

its not an option. the final step even after you enable swype in the settings is to long press and select input method as swype. otherwise you still get the android  keyboard.

uuumm.....if you disable the other keyboards you don't have to long press every single time you want to use the virtual keyboard....

it's just a matter of disabling the keyboard you are not going to use and enabling the keyboard that you are going to use.....

In case you or anyone else still need it. Credit to chibucks:

"here's the one i've been using (for about a week)

www.rapidshare.com/files/354228280/Swype.micro.1.16.apk

it's the 'lite' version, meaning, xda stripped out the help and stuff.  it work well for me.  download it, install it using appmanager/astro, and then enable it via locale/text."

I watched the "how to use Swype" videos and they show a feature where you can double tap a word and it will bring up the "suggested words" list, but on this "lite" version it doesn't seem to be able to do that.  Is there a version out there that will?
