Confirmed Drivers for Recovery and Download Mode

Setting up drivers on a system is usually a one time event.  I use multiple computers and have had to go through steps a few times, grabbing these drivers by searching through different posts and figured it would be helpful for everybody to have them in one location.

These are tested and have worked on both of my windows xp machines. Ill confirm on my windows vista machine later.  Ive seen it posted Windows 7 automatically loads the drivers.

Recovery Mode is commonly used for adb shell and adb push/pull.
Download Mode is commonly used for flashing with Odin. Guide by cnstarz

Recovery Mode Drivers :
*Do not connect the phone to the system until the directions direct.
Unzip this file to a directory on the hard drive. Turn the phone completely off. Turn phone on by holding Volume down + call + end and it will load into Recovery Mode.  Now, connect it to Windows. It will prompt for drivers for the new device. Tell Windows to search for drivers from specified location and give it the directory where these drivers were unzipped.
Note: I did not have to run the "setup.exe" file located in the zip.

Download Mode Drivers:[/b]
*Do not connect the phone to the system until the directions direct.
Install this program, Samsung PC Studio 3, linked below.
After install, the program will open. Make sure under Settings it is set to Not Auto Load at startup.
For safe measure, you can restart Windows. Turn the phone off. Turn phone on by holding volume down + camera + power on and it will load into Download mode. Connect it to the computer.  Windows should automatically recognize the device and start loading the drivers (which were installed previously by Samsung PC Studio).
Note: Samsung PC Studio must be closed and not running in the background, Task Manager can be used end its process.

Any tips on what I may be doing wrong. Win 7 nor Xp64 will see the device in the download mode.

man here what i did. Restarted the laptop, than did a factory reset on the phone and frist thing i did was turn it off put it into download mode, my computer did whatever, and turned the phone off back on and it said it was usb connected no problem.

but yeah i had to do a hard reset on my phone.

I am having the same problem...
I can not get into recovery mode...
Lucky for me, my coworker who know more about the phone then I do will be here soon. I will have her show me how it is done on hers and I will copy...

I thought it might be a problem with how long you hold the buttons down for, however mine went into a loop where it did the samsung progress bar 4 times before continuing the boot up...

So I will chime in later...

I have followed the instructions and still get drivers found but can not start in windows 7 device manager.  any ideas

I've been having issues getting my phone to connect to my pc.. I can get the phone to work through the upgrader in download mode but with the phone on it says USB connected then when I select mount it'll say Prepairing SD card after like 10 seconds.. I've downloaded the program at the beginning of this thread with no luck... If you unplug the usb cord the plug it back in it won't say usb connected anymore until you restart the phone. USB connected will stay on the phone as long as you don't try to mount..

I found that Windows 7 is very fussy about Android USB Drivers.

Now, power off and power on your Samsung Intercept (Just for clean phone state).

Press Home Key
Press Menu Key
Select Settings
Select Applications
Select Development
Check USB debugging on
Check Stay awake on

Connect your Samsung Intercept to USB port of your Windows PC.
You shall see USB connected and USB debugging connected in Notification bar
