Can you explain for me the enabling aspect of the install, I installed it several times and can't quite figure out why it isn't showing up when I txt. Thanx
from your home screen click menu>settings>locale &keyboard>then scroll down until you see the part about swype check the enable box.
Then go back to your home screen and open any text entry box, long press and select "input method" and select swype. then have fun

This thing really sucks.  As you are sliding your finger you are blocking a good portion of the screen so you can't really see WHERE you are sliding.

Worthless program in my opinion.

I've used this for a bit but find that the Shapewriter keyboard outperforms it.

it feels smoother, allows more room for error and it's easier to add your own slang words in it's dictionary. works great with 2.1

find it on the market and check it out for yourself.

Once you get used to it, you can type a million times faster and it's amazing.  Not good for entering linux commands, but good for texting.

Does the file in the OP from hokansoc (Swype.micro.1.16.apk) work for 2.1? And is anyone else getting the "Trial Period" error mentioned above? I miss Swype now after the 2.1 update, but foolish me, I deleted everything on my phone before flashing, thinking that none of the original 1.5 apks would work on the new 2.1

I don't see Spacewriter in the market. There is a Shapewriter, but the comments mention a trial, same as the prior post does with Swype. I just don't want to deal with a trial. I'm open to any suggestions. If all I can get requires purchase after a trial, that's fine. Just don't want to deal with it if a free version exists. I don't need all the bells and whistles.
