yea, i got it installed and all it does is show the blue line but doesnt type anything and just makes a beeping sound, tried uninstalling and reinstalling still no effect..it does not work as it is supposed to

I had the same issue, but installing the version from edited link on the 1st page and it's working fine now.  This little app might keep my from using the physical keyboard that I still haven't adapted to.  Thanks to the OP for introducing us to this cool little app.

Hey guys, I'm new here so bear with me. I had SWYPE installed from the link "rapidshare.com/files/354228280/Swype.micro.1.16.apk". Ater using it for a while it said that it had expired. I uninstalled it and tried to download the version at the beginning of this post. i downloaded it but it will not give me a run option, saying that it is some sort of text. Any help would be great. Thanks

You might need to install it first, the same way you would any app from the market. Do you have an app installer program? If not, you should get one. AstroFileManager has one. You'll also need to allow your phone to install non-market apps.

I reinstalled Swype from the radidshare link and I seleted the keyboard fromthe settings, but it's telling me that my trail version has expired. Also, the link I got from the beginning of the page shows it to be a .txt file not an .apk file

When I click on the link in the original posting, the file listed is .apk   When you say it's .txt, how are you looking at it? Does it show up as .txt in your phone's browser? Or did you actually download it and it's listed as .txt on your sd card?

It's saved as .txt on my sd. I got it to save as .apk. i re-installed it and activated it, but when i use it it says that it has expired and the SWYPE keyboard opens up and the blue line shows, but words do not display.

I installed it and it works fine on mine. Takes a bit of getting used to. I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt though. for fellas with big hands like mine it might just be a life saver for messaging
